How Many Calories are in a Tomato?

We all know that tomatoes are one of the healthiest foods out there, but just how healthy are they?

An average tomato has just 21 calories, and here is a quick glance at the nutritional information of a tomato, including calories, fat, carbohydrates, sugars, and of course Vitamin C:

Protein:

0.88 g

Fat:

0.2 g

Carbohydrate:

3.92 g

Sugar:

2.63 g

Calcium:

10 mg

Iron:

0.27 mg

Potassium:

237 mg

Sodium:

5 mg

Zinc:

0.17 mg

Selenium:

0 microgram

Vitamin C:

12.7 mg

With numbers like these, it is easy to see why tomatoes should be part of your diet.
