Using their Tomatometer, Rottentomatoes.com has announced the winners of the 10th Annual Golden Tomato Awards.
Wall-E, the latest movie from animation studio Pixar, has won the Wide Release Golden Tomato award, based on a 96% Tomatometer score.
Transsiberian, which was released to only a limited number of theaters, had a 100% Tomatometer score.
As their website explains,”The Tomatometer measures the percentage of Approved Tomatometer Critics who recommend a certain movie — or the number of good reviews divided by the total number of reviews…In order for a movie to receive an overall rating of FRESH, the reading on the Tomatometer for that movie must be at least 60%. Otherwise, it is ROTTEN.”
Wall-E’s 96% score means that almost every critic rated it very positively. On the other end of the scale, a movie named “One Missed Call” has won their “Moldy Tomato Award.” It has the dubious honor of the lowest Tomatometer score ever – 0%, meaning not a single person gave it a positive review.
