iPhone Application Shows Tomato Appreciation

With Splat, a new iPhone application prototype from AT&T, you would be able to virtually throw tomatoes (and other objects) at the television.

The Tomacco: One Simpsons Episode Comes to Life

If you are a Simpsons fan, you may have seen the episode where Homer Simpson crosses tomatoes and tobacco with the aid of plutonium.

The result was dubbed a “tomacco”. It tasted horrible, being loaded with nicotine, and produced instantaneous addiction.

While the fruit as envisioned on the show does not exist, this is closer to reality that you may have thought.

Killer Tomatoes Primed for New Attack

Yes, you read that correctly.

The 1978 cult classic film Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! is about to get replanted in a theater near you.

The creators of Internet sensation “Ask a Ninja,” Kent Nichols and Douglas Sarine, are teaming up to write the new version, which Nichols will direct. No word yet on whether the original plot will change, but one thing is clear: killer tomatoes will be featured.

How to Dig a Tomato Garden

One day in early spring, an 80-year-old man decided that it was time to plant his tomatoes as he had done every year for 60 years.

When he got out the shovel to dig the garden, though, he realized that he’d never be able to do all the work himself.

Unfortunately the only person who could help him was his son Vincent who was in prison. Not knowing what else to do, the man wrote to his son:

Dear Vincent,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If only you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me.

Ewan McGregor. As a Tomato. Gets Assaulted.

FilmFour did a beautiful promotional series of commercials, and here you can see Ewan McGregor in a tomato suit, getting assaulted.

You can also see him shilling FilmFour in aforementioned suit with Judi Dench singing as a lobster, having an existential crisis. “Am I a fruit? Am I a vegetable?” What’s not to love?
