Recipe: Fried Green Tomato - A Southern Comfort

I was born and raised in the deep south…about as deep as you can get.
And while some people have things they consider to be the true essence of the South — cotton plantations, Dixie belles, a huge rebel flag on a monster truck, Tommy Lee Jones, etc. — I consider our greatest accomplishment a simple southern delicacy known as the Fried Green Tomato.
Yes, we pick them green, slice them and—like just about everything else down here—we fry it up to a light golden brown.
